This is literally an Ode to Jazz. I found a Dizzy Gillespie image and decided on some colors other than the often over-used blue. I found the burnt-sienna colors could still communicate the idea of jazz to the viewer. In keeping with good graphic design practice, I manipulated the text, and used warping, layering, and created unique characters out of the existing typeface. I incorporated a music note into the typography for the letter J. Also, this double-entendre pays homage to the Jazz cup by female graphic artist Gina Ekiss of the Sweetheart Cup Company. The squiggle at the bottom was all pervasive during my childhood.
